Medicine / Altered-State Support

The experience is one part of the story.

Preparation and integration support with Patrice for people considering or making sense of a psychedelic or other altered-state experience. I bring seven years of experience supporting people before, during and after psychedelic experiences. Elsewise does not provide medical treatment, prescribe, supply or administer substances.

A useful place to start

Medicine isn't the whole story.

People can have a profound experience and still be unsure what to do with it afterward. They can also have an underwhelming, confusing or difficult one. An altered state doesn't automatically resolve a pattern, and it isn't a requirement for doing meaningful work.

What matters here is your context: why you're considering this, what support you have, what you hope might change, and what happens when life resumes. Sometimes the most useful work happens before an experience. Sometimes it starts months later. Sometimes it happens without medicine at all.

The human being doesn't disappear when the state changes.

A big insight still has to meet your actual life.

How support might fit

Different moments need different conversations.

After an initial conversation, we agree on what support would involve. There isn't a standard package that assumes everyone needs the same preparation or the same number of integration sessions.

BEFORE

Preparation

We can talk through intentions, expectations, context, consent, boundaries, support people and questions to take to a medical provider. We’ll make room for questions, realistic expectations and your own choices. No particular experience or outcome can be promised.

AROUND IT

Practical support

If an experience is part of a legal, appropriate pathway, we can discuss what support is already in place and what you may need to arrange with the people responsible for your care. The exact role Patrice can play is discussed individually.

AFTER

Integration

We can make room for what happened, including the parts that don't yet make sense, then look at what deserves attention now. That might involve reflection, body awareness, relationships, routines or one small experiment in daily life.

Consent and choice

You stay part of the decision.

Pressure to have a breakthrough is a terrible starting point. We can name your hopes and hesitations, talk about what you do and don't consent to, and make space to change your mind. Preparation includes realistic expectations and attention to your circumstances, rather than treating a method as right for everybody.

And if the answer is “this isn't for me,” that is useful information. We can still work with the questions that brought you here.

The scope, plainly

Here's where my role sits.

I offer conversation, preparation and integration support. Depending on your situation, that can include nervous-system education, grounding or somatic practices, guided reflection, and a practical way to carry something into everyday life.

I don't prescribe, supply or administer substances. I don't provide medical screening or decide whether a medicine is medically appropriate for you. Questions about contraindications, medication interactions and medical eligibility belong with an appropriate licensed healthcare provider. When it makes sense and you agree, support can be coordinated with a prescribing or other licensed provider.

Working together does not mean medicine is part of the plan. The nature and availability of any support around an experience are discussed individually.

After the insight

What do you want to do with what you learned?

Integration isn't a test of how meaningful an experience was. It can be noticing a familiar reaction sooner, having a conversation you've avoided, adjusting your environment, or realizing that you need more support than you thought.

Small and usable counts.

A starting point

Let's talk about what you're considering.

In a free 20-minute conversation, tell me what is happening, what support is already in place, and what questions you have. We’ll see whether working together makes sense and discuss what support could involve for your situation.

Psychedelic & Altered State Support

Individual preparation, experience planning, and integration for people exploring psychedelic or ketamine states through legal, appropriate pathways.

Why altered states can feel different

Psychedelics and ketamine can temporarily change how attention, emotion, memory, and prediction work. For some people, that shift makes familiar patterns easier to notice and new perspectives easier to test.

Good support helps turn a powerful experience into something useful after the effects have passed.

A plan built around one person

Every booking begins with a conversation. We look at your goals, context, support system, nervous system, and practical needs. Preparation and integration stay connected so insights have somewhere to land.

What support may include

Your plan may include:

• Preparation conversations

• Nervous system education

• Consent and boundary planning

• Grounding and somatic practices

• Questions for a prescribing or medical provider

• A practical safety and emergency plan

• Guided reflection and meaning making

• Journaling or creative processing

• Integration sessions and follow up tools

Willoak Rising does not prescribe, supply, or administer substances. I support adults using legal pathways and collaborate with licensed or prescribing providers when appropriate.

Who tends to find this useful

People often reach out before a first experience, after something intense or confusing, or when an earlier insight keeps fading once ordinary life returns.

This support can also help during life transitions, trauma recovery, or periods when you understand the pattern intellectually but still feel caught inside it.

What to expect

Warm, direct conversations and a plan you can actually use. We talk openly about readiness, consent, support people, risks, and what happens next.

I cannot promise a particular outcome. I can help you prepare carefully, notice what matters, and carry the learning into daily life.

Start with a conversation

These experiences are booked individually. We can talk through what you are considering, what support is already in place, and whether working together makes sense.
